Dawna Markova wrote…
I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear
Of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
To allow my living to open me,
To make me less afraid,
More accessible;
To loosen my heart
Until it becomes a wing,
A torch, a promise.
This poem resonates with me very deeply as I fill my days with purpose, awareness, and conviction, toward living and creating the life I desire. This is a gift I am grateful for: that my future isn’t yet written. That I can create, moment by moment, how I will live my days.
Moments are all we need. They are such small spaces in time and when we create beautiful moments they add up to beautiful days. We have the power within us to simply enjoy what already is. To feel, and to let in, the beauty that surrounds us and the miracles of life. Sometimes we are paralyzed by the fear of past experiences or simply live in the gray, a safe space between the contrast of light and dark, and we don’t let ourselves fully BE. And, we may not know how to fully BE.
Our bodies know. We were born with the ability to experience our moments. They may be trapped somewhere inside, but trust that your body knows.
